SIP clients traditionally use TCP and UDP port 5060 to connect to SIP servers and other SIP endpoints. SIP is primarily used in setting up and tearing down voice or video calls.

VOIP Voice over Internet Protocol, is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or through any other IP-based network.

PSTN public switched telephone network is the concentration of the world’s public circuit switching telephone networks in much the same way that the “Internet” is the concentration of the world’s public “Internet” protocol based packet switching networks. UM Unified Messaging is the integration of different streams of messages (e-mail, Fax, voice, video, etc.) into a single in-box, accessible from a variety of different devices.
